Finding a good place to shop for pet store supplies can be tough, if you don’t know where to start. Recently a friend recommended trying to buy my dog food online and I was skeptical at first, but decided to look into it a bit more. To my surprise, I found out that not only where the prices cheaper, even with coupons, but a lot of the time they offered free shipping. Combine that with not having to pay sales tax and you’ve got yourself a huge way to save some money.

A few caveats to shopping online include making sure to understand the policy of the site you are ordering from. Often the return policies are not clear and you have to understand what the rules are. Also it is a really good idea to compare prices at several online pet stores. Every time I go to buy the dog food that my dogs like, I will compare and shop for the best price between several sites. You’d be surprised at how much cheaper the deals really are.

The only downside is waiting for the product you ordered to be shipped, but that is not a huge issue. Especially for me, since I buy food, I know the schedule and when my dogs are getting low. I order quite a bit from Petco online and know how long it takes to have the food delivered to my door.

If you have never shopping online for pet store supplies, then you should try it. Good prices, fast service, and better deals than local stores, including big discount  clubs like Sams or Costco. I’ve been buying dog food and other pet store supplies from the Web for a couple of years now and can honestly say it saves me a bunch of money every year. Sure makes the wife happy anyway…
